A credit limit refers to the amount of money that a credit card company temporarily holds as a reserve from the total available credit.
In AutoReserve, when making a reservation for a course where cancellation fees are set, customers are required to register their credit card information.
When the reservation is confirmed, AutoReserve will temporarily hold (reserve) a portion of the credit limit on the customer's registered credit card.
About Credit Limit Hold at the Time of Reservation
The credit limit hold has a maximum duration. If the reservation is made well in advance, the credit limit may be periodically rechecked (re-authorized) until the reservation date.
Some credit card companies may show the amount reserved in the statement as if the amount was used. This is merely a confirmation of the credit limit, not an actual charge. Rest assured that the amount will be refunded to the customer’s account at a later date.
Memo:
・The credit limit check is not an advance payment for the reservation's charge.
・Please pay for your meals directly at the restaurant on the day of the reservation. Why is it Necessary to Hold the Credit Limit?
If a cancellation occurs due to the customer’s circumstances and the credit card is already at its limit, the cancellation fee cannot be charged.
By holding the credit limit, the restaurant can securely collect the cancellation fee and avoid the hassle of confirming payment from AutoReserve users.
Memo:
・Some credit card companies may show the pre-authorization amount in the statement.
・The amount held as a credit limit will be refunded if the customer shows up as per the reservation.
・The timing of the refund cannot be provided by us, so please directly contact the card company for details.
